Sometimes you don’t need more journal prompts.
You need a different way to look at the page.
Japanese-Inspired Journaling is a 9-page guided mini journal exploring six very different approaches to noticing, reflecting and recording everyday life.
Inside you’ll explore:
Wabi-sabi — finding beauty in imperfection
Kanso — simplifying what feels unnecessarily complicated
Ikigai — noticing the small things that make life feel worthwhile
Mono no aware — capturing moments precisely because they won’t last
Shinrin-yoku — slowing down and noticing the world through your senses
Hobonichi-inspired journaling — recording the ordinary details of everyday life
Each approach includes a short introduction, a simple exercise and thoughtful prompts, followed by plenty of open space to write however you want.
No perfect handwriting. No elaborate journaling routine. No need to complete it in order.
Just six different ways to meet the page and discover which one stays with you.
A note on cultural inspiration
This journal is inspired by Japanese concepts and contemporary Japanese journaling culture; it is not presented as a guide to traditional Japanese journaling practices. The journaling exercises have been created by Thoughtful Minds Collective as ways to thoughtfully explore these ideas on the page.
Hobonichi is a contemporary Japanese brand. The Hobonichi-inspired exercise draws from the flexible spirit of recording everyday life and does not reproduce Hobonichi products, layouts or proprietary materials.
